Transport: first brick laid for CNIM's new plant in China
On September 20, 2005, Mr. Vsevolod DMITRIEFF, President of the Supervisory Board, and Mr. François CANELLAS, President of the Executive Board, laid the first brick of CNIM's new plant in China. A large number of clients and local officials attended the ceremony.
Located in GAOMING in the province of Guangdong, 70 km from Guangzhou, the plant comprises 20,000 m² of buildings spread over a total area of 80,000 m². As of June 2006, the site will be manufacturing the Transport Division's main products: escalators, moving walkways (with a capacity of 300 units per year) and platform screen doors. This new industrial facility will allow the Transport Division to strengthen its presence in Asia and provide direct access to the Chinese market, which represents a substantial volume of projects in the public transport sector.
