Mechanical systems

CNIM's mechanical systems all share the same quality and reliability requirements. They often demand the use of advanced technologies.

Ariane V

CNIM has supplied a first batch of 20 upstream nozzle casings of the ARIANE V rocket boosters.
The scope of supply includes the assembly of the forged pieces using electron beam welding and their subsequent complex machining.

In addition, SNECMA Propulsion Solide entrusted CNIM with the manufacturing studies and the realisation of machining the upstream casings, the downstream casings and the nozzle casings with the aim to qualify a new type of casings made from moulded parts.

CNIM also supplied the spheres used for the storage of liquid and gaseous helium on the same rocket. These sheres were assembled by electron beam welding.

Airbus A380

Using its electron beam welding facilities, CNIM constructs the key element of the titanium engine pylons for the Airbus A380.

High security handling equipment for nuclear power stations

CNIM supplied high security machines for handling and discharging fuel elements in nuclear power stations. They equip the EDF power stations of the 1300 MW and 1400 MW range, but are also intended for export.
